The Galaxy Manila Marathon, presented by SM Supermalls, is set to make history in June 2026 by becoming the first marathon in the Philippines to fully close EDSA for a 42-kilometer race. Organized in partnership with RunRio, the event will span from SM Mall of Asia to SM North EDSA and back, marking a milestone in Philippine running.
Expected to draw over 25,000 participants, the marathon aims to promote fitness, inclusivity, and urban mobility while showcasing the potential of large-scale, safely managed road closures for public events. The race will traverse one of Metro Manila’s busiest thoroughfares, reimagining it as a space for sport and community engagement.
